BoxedWine is Now on Xbox Dev Mode Thanks to MoonPower

Exciting news: BoxedWine has officially arrived on UWP and is ready to run on your Xbox, courtesy of MoonPower! You can download it here: xboxdev.store.

What You Need to Know:

• Supported Formats: It runs .exe, .bat, and .msi files for 32-bit and 16-bit Windows programs, opening up a whole new world of classic Windows software on Xbox.


• Setting Up: Just zip your app along with any dependencies into a single file, and BoxedWine will load it. You can even put multiple EXEs in one zip!


• File Size: Tested zips are up to 200MB. Bigger files might work, but that’s untested for now. We’re working on a compatibility list, so if you try something and it works, let us know on Discord.

A Heads-Up: You might see some lag or stuttering. Try adjusting the frame skip and play around with the renderer (choose between GDI or OpenGL) to find what works best for you.

And here’s a quick tip: Press B on your Xbox controller to bring up the menu overlay while running wine.
